Manchester United are working towards strengthening their squad in the summer transfer window.

Signing a new attacker is the club’s priority and it is understandable since Rasmus Hojlund has failed to make an impact at the club this season.

It is not a secret that the Red Devils are pushing to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer.

According to Teamtalk, Man United have submitted a contract offer to the Brazilian attacker.

The proposed deal is a five-year contract running until June 2030, with negotiations progressing positively.

United are reportedly willing to meet Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause, aiming to structure payments over several years to comply with financial regulations.

The possible arrival of Cunha at Old Trafford would push Rasmus Hojlund closer to an exit from the club.

Hojlund has struggled to make a significant impact and is attracting interest from several Serie A clubs.

His future at the club is in trouble and rightly since so since his goal scoring record at United is abysmal. He has scored only three Premier League goals all season. Along with Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho could also be sold after this season.

In addition to targeting Cunha, United are also pursuing Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap. His release clause is set to drop to £30 million after Ipswich’s relegation.

The club’s transfer plans this summer show that they have no faith in their current attackers and they want to completely revamp the attacking line up.

There is a confident feeling between United and Wolves that a deal for Cunha will be completed soon.

Arsenal, Aston Villa and Saudi clubs are closely monitoring the progress between United and Cunha.

If the deal breaks down between the two parties, they will be ready to make an offer for the Brazilian attacker.
