Manchester United are reportedly prepared to step up their pursuit of AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez.
United have been heavily linked to Hernandez over the past few weeks amidst uncertainty over his future with the Rossoneri.
His contract expires in the summer of 2026 and in the last few games, he has been benched by Paulo Fonseca in favour of 19-year-old Alex Jimenez.
A week ago, Hernandez’s agent released a statement affirming his client’s commitment to signing a new contract with Milan. The agent dismissed rumours of a rift between Hernandez and Fonseca, attributing the player’s limited game time solely to tactical decisions.
However, this has done little to quell suggestions that Hernandez could be on the move, with a January transfer increasingly seen as a possibility.
A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Milan want €50m for the 27-year-old.
According to Milan Live [via SportWitness], Hernandez is facing a very complicated situation at the San Siro, having come off the bench against Hallas Verona just a week after not featuring at all vs. Genoa.
This has caught the attention of United and Ruben Amorim’s side are understood to be “ready to go on the attack” for the Frenchman.
His agent has held talks with Milan over a new contract but so far, nothing has materialised.
Hernandez’s chances of parting ways with the Serie A giants are said to be “very high.”
Additionally, it’s believed that Fonseca is not happy with the full-back’s attitude in training and has made this well-known, even in front of the rest of the squad.
Hernandez has made 19 appearances across all competitions this term, registering two goals and two assists in that period.
