Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly open to loaning out Andre Onana if it means securing another number one goalkeeper this summer.

The Cameroonian keeper has been a model of inconsistency for United since signing in 2023 for £47 million, making numerous high-profile blunders.

The Red Devils are keen to sign a keeper this summer with younger options like Lucas Chevalier and Senne Lammens frequently linked to a move to Manchester.

Nonetheless, there have also been persistent rumours that if United can offload Onana, they may go for a more experienced keeper such as Emiliano Martinez , Marc-André ter Stegen or Diogo Costa to replace him.

Consequently, The Sun report that Amorim has become so desperate to land a shot stopper that he “is willing to loan Andre Onana and find a new number one.”

There has been some interest in him from Saudi Arabia with Neom SC being most frequently linked with a move.

Nonetheless no deal has been able to materialise and this is because of his high wages according to The Sun.

As a result of the difficulty in moving him on permanently, “the door is open to a temporary switch.”

United are currently waiting for approaches and would prefer that a European side came forward rather than a fellow Premier League club.

AS Monaco recently showed an interest in the player but were once again put off by his wage demands.

The Red Devils may also need to cover some of his salary if they are to successfully loan him out this window.

The English outlet claims that United have also monitored Botafogo’s John Victor as a potential replacement and that the Brazilian would be available for the bargain price of £6 million.

Costa and Martinez are also mentioned by the paper as potential options should United find a club willing to take Onana off their hands.
