Wilfred Ndidi’s name is back on Premier League radars as uncertainty surrounds his Leicester City future. According to TuttoSport, a number of English clubs have recently shown interest in the Nigerian international, with Everton, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Manchester United among those making enquiries.
Ndidi, who has been with Leicester since 2017, is in the final year of his current deal, and the presence of a release clause adds intrigue to his availability. Despite not being part of the Foxes’ unforgettable 2016 title win, he has played a key role in more recent successes, lifting the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2021.

Ndidi’s contract talks are yet to produce a renewal, and this uncertainty has encouraged interest from abroad. Juventus are strongly linked, with TuttoSport reporting that the Italian giants have made a compelling case to the midfielder’s representatives.
“Which can boast a very respectable reputation, a good willingness to accommodate the requests of the entourage and, above all, participation in the next Champions League.”
Those are three things that could sway a player seeking continental football after Leicester’s relegation and subsequent season in the Championship. Ndidi is believed to be attracted to the Juventus project under Igor Tudor, where his ball-winning ability would offer a fresh dimension to their midfield unit.
Still, the player’s attachment to English football, where he has amassed over 300 appearances, keeps Premier League clubs firmly in the frame.
Manchester United’s interest is not new. As TuttoSport state, the club had “already thought of him a summer ago,” and with midfield strengthening again on the agenda at Old Trafford, Ndidi’s profile is under serious consideration.
Rúben Amorim’s arrival as manager has recalibrated United’s recruitment strategy. There is an emphasis on balance and reliability, especially in the midfield anchor role. While the club continues to pursue marquee targets, there is also recognition of the value in experienced, Premier League-proven players like Ndidi.
Should Weston McKennie exit Juventus due to stalled contract negotiations, the Serie A side could step up their efforts. But the Premier League quartet, particularly United, may offer both financial muscle and the lure of top-flight English football that could turn Ndidi’s head.

At 27, Ndidi is entering a pivotal phase of his career. With one year left on his Leicester deal and his future still undecided, this window presents an opportunity for him to secure a move that aligns with his ambitions.
Leicester, now back in the Premier League, would ideally retain his services, but their position is weakened by the ticking contract clock and interest from heavyweight clubs. Whether it is a move to Turin or a return to a top-six English side, Ndidi’s disciplined style and experience will be seen as a valuable asset.
For Manchester United, the idea of bringing in Wilfred Ndidi offers both familiarity and functionality. This is a player who has consistently performed in the Premier League, knows the physicality of the league and has rarely looked out of place in midfield duels against top opposition.
Supporters will remember past windows when Ndidi was rumoured to be on the shortlist, but perhaps now the timing is better. He is available, motivated and reportedly has a release clause in play. His contract running down makes this a shrewd financial move too.
United’s need for a reliable defensive midfielder grows. Ndidi may not offer the glamour of a Champions League superstar, but he ticks many boxes; disciplined, athletic and rarely injured. Fans would view this as a smart addition, especially if it frees up funds to target a forward and centre-back.
Ultimately, United need balance, and Ndidi has long offered that. It may not be the marquee signing of the summer, but it could prove one of the most effective.
