The Scotland international’s first association with the Blues came at youth-team level in 2015 when she joined our Academy from Everton before moving to Clemson Tigers in the United States on a soccer scholarship.

It was there where she developed her talents before sealing a switch back to the Toffees where she continued to impress as a professional which included a Player of the Match display in the 2020 FA Cup final against City where we prevailed in extra-time.

After helping the Merseyside outfit maintain their Barclays Women’s Super League status in 2021/22, MacIver re-joined City at the end of the campaign – putting pen to paper on a three-year deal in Manchester.

She then made her debut and kept a clean sheet in a 6-0 League Cup victory over Blackburn at the Joie Stadium before totalling nine outings that term as she provided fierce competition to Ellie Roebuck.

However, her maiden term was cut short after sustaining an injury in April 2023 and the following term was unfortunately also hampered by time spent on the treatment table.

After featuring in our first two League Cup assignments in 2023/24, Khiara Keating’s first-team breakthrough meant minutes were limited for MacIver before the latter ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament during international duty in April 2024.

A dedicated and successful rehabilitation process followed and after returning to full fitness, it’s time for MacIver to write the next chapter in her career.

In total, she made 11 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Sandy all the very best in the future and thank her for her efforts while at the Club.
