According to a report from L’Équipe, Lyon are now aware of the financial capital that they need to raise in order to overturn the decision to relegate them to Ligue 2 at the appeal with the DNCG. OL’s appeal with the French football financial watchdog is set to take place on the 10th July.

Les Gones have been told that they need to raise €200m in order to reverse their administrative demotion to the French second tier. €100m of this needs to be raised in the 7 days that remain before the appeal. The money needs to be actively available within the club’s accounts.

Additionally, Lyon need to be able to prove that they see an additional €100m entering the club’s accounts before the season is over. This will likely be raised through competition prize money and player sales. John Textor will not appear at the appeal meeting with the DNCG; new OL president and chairwoman Michelle Kang will be joined by General Manager Michael Gerlinger.
