Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke to the world's media at the pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday's Matchday 5 UEFA Champions League clash away to FC Bayern at the Fussball Arena München.
FC Bayern and us are very similar teams. We both want the ball and we both press very hard. We have similar statistics, particularly in attack. But tomorrow there will only be one ball, so one of the two teams will have to play the game more than the other: it'll be them or us.
Bayern Munich are favourites every time they play, in every competition they play in. That's true today and it will also be true in ten years' time. It's a club that carries a lot of weight in Germany and in Europe.
There are several ways of dealing with the pressure from our opponents: short passes, balls in behind, using a centre forward as a target, back to goal... Everyone has their own solution. For our part, we're not afraid to defend high up the pitch. I think that probably gives you an idea of the game that awaits tomorrow.
For me, our results so far in this competition are not the results we’ve deserved, but results are what they are. We don't yet know how many points we'll need to qualify. Football is all about one thing, and one thing only: scoring goals, and in that respect we have to improve.
We've played 16 official matches this season, and I think that with the exception of the Arsenal game, my team has always put in a good performance. That's why we're going to stick to our principles.
The strength of our team is that we don't depend on just one player. So I'm expecting individual development from each of my players, as well as collective development. But so far, I'm satisfied with what I'm seeing. Tomorrow, we'll be brave once again, we'll take risks in defence and we'll attack. If Bayern are better than us, then we'll congratulate them and get back to work.
Presnel Kimpembe is still working his way back to full fitness. As a team, it has been important for us to have him back in the squad. Gonçalo Ramos, meanwhile, is further along in his recovery process. I want all my players to be available for selection, all of them.
