Louie Barry to be recalled from his Stockport loan

Aston Villa have confirmed they will recall Louie Barry from his loan spell at Stockport County in January.

The forward finally seems to have settled following various loan spells and has impressed in League One this season, scoring 14 goals in 21 appearances.

It is his second spell at the club as he helped the Hatters to promotion last season.

There have been various links to a loan spell in the Championship with Middlesbrough and Leeds United said to have shown an interest.

Middlesbrough have loaned Villa players in the past including Aaron Ramsey, Cameron Archer and more recently Finn Azaz on a permanent deal for £8 million.

Barry, who grew up as a Villa fan, will back himself to make an impact for Villa and will hope he will get time to impress Emery before any decision is made on another loan deal.
