Despite signing Santiago Gimenez for just over €32m in January, AC Milan are already thinking about signing another €30m striker for next season, according to a report.
It has been a tough start to life in Italy for Gimenez, with just three goals in 13 appearances so far, and he has also lost his starting spot. Ahead of the summer, as such, Milan are evaluating their options and the idea seems to be to add another top-quality striker.
According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan have big plans for Gimenez and will give him a leading role for next season. However, making sure that he has a great alternative/deputy is one of their priorities, willing to spend another €30m to truly bolster the attack.
The likes of Lorenzo Lucca (Udinese) and Jonathan Burkardt (Mainz) are on the wish list, per the report, and the Rossoneri appear serious in their pursuit. That being said, nothing will be done before the new sporting director has arrived, as other targets could potentially emerge.
Lucca has scored 12 goals for Udinese this season, while Burkardt has bagged 16 goals for the German side. It remains to be seen what would happen with Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic if either of them were to arrive this summer.
