Luis Diaz ‘is not expected to complicate things internally’ at Liverpool, despite the Reds refusing to lower an asking price of £70m to sell him this summer.

The Colombian winger is ready to move on from Anfield this summer and he is the top target of Spanish giants Barcelona.

While Diaz would welcome the move, Barcelona are not keen on paying £70m and have been working to try to lower the price tag.

Liverpool though will not budge, according to Spanish programme Que t’hi Jugues, and even Barcelona’s efforts to come up with a lower initial price and include a series of add-ons have come to nothing.

Barcelona need Diaz to put pressure on Liverpool to play ball and sell him for a lower price, but even though the Reds are not looking at extending his contract, that is unlikely to happen.

It is suggested that Diaz is unlikely to complicate things internally at Liverpool in search of a move to Barcelona.

He does though remain Barcelona’s top target and the Catalans are determined to do all they can to sign him.

There are other options, such as Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, who could be signed on loan with an option to buy.

Rashford is keen on the move the Barcelona and is waiting to see if the Catalans will sign him.

Liverpool recently suffered the heart-breaking loss of Diogo Jota in a car accident and how that has shifted the Reds’ thinking in the market is unclear.

Jota, much-loved at Anfield by his team-mates, club colleagues and the fans, suffered the tragic accident while he was on his way back to Liverpool for pre-season training.

The attacker was travelling by car to catch a boat, having been advised not to fly by his doctor following surgery.
