With Milan Skriniar now at Fenerbahçe, Paris Saint-Germain could be in the market for a new center-back this summer. While Skriniar’s move is only a loan, PSG are expected to part ways with him permanently, making a replacement necessary.
Last month, Anfield Watch reported that PSG are fully committed to signing Ibrahima Konate. With uncertainty surrounding the defender’s future, the pursuit only adds more pressure to the situation.
PSG are aiming to bring Konate back to his hometown of Paris. The defender, who started at Paris FC before moving to RB Leipzig, has become a key target for the club.
Meanwhile, if Liverpool fail to reach an extension with Konate, they reportedly have a bold plan to offload him and strengthen their attack.

Football Insider reports that Liverpool have yet to finalize a new contract with Konate, even as negotiations continue. Meanwhile, reports suggest the club is already scouting potential replacements for the French defender ahead of the summer transfer window.
SportsZone reported that PSG could once again get the better of Liverpool, this time in the transfer market. The outlet shared on X that Konate, Virgil van Dijk’s regular center-back partner, “prefers to join PSG.”
A Paris native, Konate is entering his prime, and the report suggested his best years may be back in his hometown rather than at Anfield—a major blow for Arne Slot.
