Paris Saint-Germain initially took a short-term approach by loaning Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig for another season. However, the German club recently made his future clear by signing him on a permanent transfer.
The Parisians also included a sell-on clause in the deal, which could be affected by these revelations.
CaughtOffside recently reported that Manchester United may have an advantage over Manchester City in the race to sign Simons next summer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Simons has officially joined Leipzig from PSG on a permanent deal worth €80 million, including add-ons. The initial fee is €55 million, with a sell-on clause included.
Romano also noted that Simons’ contract runs until June 2027, but he could be on the move again as early as this summer, with multiple clubs already showing interest.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all monitoring Simons.
Recently, the German media outlet SportBild criticized the Dutchman, accusing him of creating turmoil at the Bundesliga club since his record transfer this winter.
“When Xavi Simons enters the locker room, he has recently been wearing a particular baseball cap,” SportBild noted in their reporting. “The words ‘XS 10’ are embroidered in white on the black cap. A symbol of the playmaker’s ego, which is at least as large as his paycheck.
“His teammates feel it, and it causes ripples in the locker room. His confidence makes it even difficult to give him advice or warn him. And more and more often, Xavi Simons does whatever he wants.”
Nonetheless, these rumors might not hamper Simons’ market as there’s plenty of interest in him heading into the summer window.
