Liverpool head to the Molineux in a bid to go top of the Premier League after Manchester City's 1-1 draw at Newcastle earlier.

Arne Slot has opted to stick with Luis Diaz as his starting left winger despite Gakpo's sublime performance against West Ham on Wednesday.

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Salah, Jota, Diaz

Diogo Jota replaces Darwin Nunez who netted a superb left-footed effort last weekend against Bournemouth. The Uruguayan has been ruled out with illness.

Alisson Becker also returns back to the side after being ruled out with a slight muscle injury this week. That was one we all saw coming - Slot had pretty much confirmed the Brazilian was going straight back into the XI.

It was hinted that Nunez would be out of the starting XI after back-to-back starts - Conor Bradley gave that game away with his FPL team. And it's proven correct.

Of course, we figured Nunez would be out simply as a rotation move. Instead, he's picked up an illness and it's not clear when he'll be back fit.

Liverpool vs Wolves lineup

As for Wolves, they've sprung a surprise. Their XI is pretty much at full strength, despite a virus hitting the squad this week.

It initially seemed that Gary O'Neil would have to seriously switch things up at Molineux, with talk of Alfie Pond stepping in for his first Premier League game. Instead, they look strong - though, it remains to be seen just how many of them are actually affected by this virus.

After all, O'Neil could simply be taking a big chance on his players here.

Liverpool may or may not have it easy here, then. Wolves look strong but the virus could still be a factor here. Regardless, we that Reds side should have too much for the hosts either way.
