The talented young Germany international has caught the eye with his performances for Dortmund, contributing five goals and three assists in 13 games in all competitions so far this season.

Adeyemi’s future has been the subject of much speculation this January, and the latest club to be mentioned as potential suitors for the 23-year-old are Liverpool, as per Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian outlet also mentions Napoli and Chelsea as possible contenders to sign Adeyemi, so it remains to be seen what the final outcome of this saga will be.

While Adeyemi is a long way from being at the extraordinary level of Mohamed Salah, it could be that Liverpool’s interest is part of their planning for losing their star player this summer.

Salah is in the final few months of his contract at Anfield, with the Reds now needing to prepare for the very realistic possibility that the Egypt international could move on on a free.

Adeyemi could help LFC strengthen their attack and rebuild for life after Salah, but one imagines some fans will also want to see more investment in a top attacking player.

Adeyemi has potential, but he’s not yet someone who can guarantee you double figures for goals every season in the way that Salah has done since his arrival at Liverpool back in 2017.

At the same time, though, it’s worth remembering that Salah didn’t look nearly as prolific at his former club Roma as he has proven to be for Liverpool, so there’s every chance that Adeyemi is another talent who could explode when he reaches his peak years soon.

There’s clearly a lot of interest in the Dortmund winger, so that surely means enough clubs have seen something in him beyond his current stats, which are decent but nothing spectacular.
