In recent days, there has been a lot of chatter about Barcelona’s pursuit of Luis Diaz, whose steep valuation is proving to be a problem.

Both the interested parties – Bayern Munich and Barcelona – have struggled to convince Liverpool with their offers, with Bayern recently seeing their fresh offer rebuffed by the Premier League giants.

However, neither Barcelona nor Bayern appear to have lost hope in their bid to sign Luis Diaz this summer.

Diaz still keen on leaving Liverpool

According to Fabrizio Romano, Luis Diaz remains determined to leave Liverpool this summer as he looks to try out a new adventure elsewhere.

It has been widely reported in the past that the Colombian international is keen on joining Barcelona and is even ready to make certain adjustments to his wages in order to seal a move to Catalonia.

Barça, however, have yet to convince Liverpool and notably had an offer rejected in June, with the Reds valuing the player close to €100 million.

Barcelona, though, have not completely given up on Diaz, which is hardly surprising considering the fact that the forward is one of Deco’s favourites.

Keeping that in mind, Barça, along with Bayern Munich, have maintained contacts with Diaz’s agent, hoping to convince the player to force through a Liverpool exit.

Recent reports suggest the Catalans are also preparing to launch an opening offer for the Colombian international.

The coming days could prove to be critical as Barcelona look for that elusive breakthrough in the pursuit of Luis Diaz.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool’s pursuit of Rodrygo plays a role in temptig the Reds to part ways with the Colombian.
