After a lengthy spell away from the pitch, Rémy Labeau Lascary (22) could have a new temporary home this season. According to L’Équipe, RC Lens are negotiating a season-long loan move with Angers SCO for the striker born in Guadeloupe.

Labeau Lascary missed most of last season after rupturing his cruciate ligament in December. He had scored two goals in 14 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Sang et Or before his injury. He’s under contract with Lens until 2028. Angers are coming off a 1-0 defeat to reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain on Friday after winning their opening match 1-0 over Paris FC.

Earlier this month, Lens signed veteran striker and former World Cup champion Florian Thauvin (32) to their side on a three-year contract, a move which seemed to indicate Labeau Lascary wasn’t in their plans for this season.

Angers’ next match takes place on August 31 when they welcome Stade Rennais to Stade Raymond Kopa.
