Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville hasn't pushed for a move away at any point during the 2023/24 campaign, according to Ben Jacobs who revealed this information to Give Me Sport.

The Dutchman has been nothing short of brilliant for the Whites during the season, with the winger arguably benefitting from the club's relegation at the end of last term.

This relegation has allowed Summerville to be one of the first names on the teamsheet and show why he should be a regular starter in West Yorkshire for the long term.

With Jack Harrison moving out on loan and Willy Gnonto not enjoying the most successful start to 2023/24, that has given the 22-year-old the opportunity to shine and he has taken this chance with both hands.

Crysencio Summerville revelation emerges amid Leeds United exit links

He is incredibly unlucky not to have won automatic promotion considering how good his performances have been, with the Whites finishing in third place in the end, behind Leicester City and Ipswich Town.

They will be the favourites to get through to the play-off final considering they face Norwich City in the semis and have the home advantage in the second leg.

But their recent form hasn't been great in recent times and in a further potential blow, Jacobs feels the Whites could face a battle to retain star man Summerville.

However, he has also revealed that Summerville's conduct has been brilliant, telling Give Me Sport: "Summerville all season has been focused on Leeds, very professional and very loyal to the club.

"Naturally, when a club like Liverpool or any other club of that nature make an offer, it can be very hard for players to turn it down.

"They’re joining a club with Champions League football, much bigger wages, and no risk of dropping out of the division a season later.

"So you can understand why Leeds may face a battle to keep Summerville. But we should stress that Summerville has always been very loyal and committed to Leeds.

"He’s not been one of the players, for example in the January window, to start asking for anything or pushing for an exit."

Leeds United are in a strong negotiating position with Crysencio Summerville

Summerville still has two years left on his contract.

With this in mind, the winger could attract big bids this summer, with clubs knowing they won't be able to get him on the cheap.

The fact he hasn't pushed for an exit is also a boost.

If he continues to conduct himself well, that should put Leeds in a position where they can bide their time and potentially create a bidding war before accepting a bid.

And if Leeds are promoted, that could potentially persuade Summerville to put pen to paper on a new contract at Elland Road, which will only strengthen Leeds' power at the negotiating table.

The Dutchman's conduct should make him a more attractive option for interested teams too, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see bids come in for him during the upcoming window.
