Leeds United are advancing in talks to sign midfielder Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion (h/t journalist Ben Jacobs).
Buonanotte spent last season on loan at Leicester City, where he scored five goals in 31 Premier League appearances.
He has already shown glimpses of elite quality, which could prove crucial for Leeds in their bid for Premier League survival.
Buonanotte thrives in advanced roles, operating behind the striker where he can unlock defences and provide a direct threat on goal.
His technical ability, vision and confidence on the ball have attracted interest across Europe, with Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund also monitoring his situation.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke has been pushing for reinforcements in midfield, especially with the club targeting a stay in the Premier League.
Buonanotte’s arrival would add much-needed creativity and flair to the side, complementing Joel Piroe and Wilfried Gnonto in attack.
If Buonanotte completes the switch to Yorkshire, he would be the 11th addition to Farke’s squad this summer.
Leeds have already signed Anton Stach, Noah Okafor, Jaka Bijol, Lucas Perri, Sean Longstaff and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
They also acquired James Justin, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.
