AC Milan thrashed Udinese 4-0 to pick up three vital points in Serie A last night.

Milan have gone downhill this season, but they produced an emphatic attacking display against Udinese.

The Rossoneri looked threatening from the start, with Tijjani Reijnders forcing a smart save from goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

Rafael Leao broke the deadlock just before half-time, whipping in a sublime strike from the edge of the box after Youssouf Fofana set him up.

Strahinja Pavlovic doubled the lead minutes later after heading home Christian Pulisic’s corner kick.

Theo Hernandez fired in a thunderous strike after a solo run to make it 3-0 before Reijnders put the game to bed after nodding home Leao’s pass.

However, Mike Maignan’s injury took the shine off Milan’s victory.

The goalkeeper collided with teammate Alex Jimenez early in the second half and was stretchered off.

The result will be a massive reprieve for manager Sergio Conceicao, who has been under fire due to a poor run of results.

Milan will be eager to build on this victory for the rest of the season.

Conceicao’s future depends on whether Rossoneri qualify for the Champions League and win the Coppa Italia.

Milan are just six points off the fourth place but will face a tough challenge against Atalanta next week.

They face arch-rivals Inter Milan in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals on April 23. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.
