With the FIFA Club World Cup in full swing and Real Madrid already showcasing their new home kit in their tournament opener against Al-Hilal, attention has now turned to the club’s third kit for the 2025/26 season and early leaks have revealed a design steeped in heritage and meaning.

The new Adidas-designed third shirt is predominantly blue, featuring white detailing and logos. It is not just the colour that pays tribute to Madrid’s iconic past, as it is the design and message behind it that truly stands out.

Inspired by the recently installed seating at the renovated Santiago Bernabeu, the kit’s fabric pattern echoes the contours of the new seats in the stadium, bringing a modern yet nostalgic feel to the shirt.

Juanito’s iconic message lives on

What makes this third kit truly special is the inclusion of a powerful and symbolic jock tag inside the shirt: “90 Minuti en el Bernabeu son molto longo.”

The phrase, famously spoken by Real Madrid legend Juanito, translates to “90 minutes at the Bernabeu is a very long time.”

It was originally uttered during the 1984/85 UEFA Cup semi-final after Madrid were 2-0 down against Inter Milan at the San Siro.

Juanito’s words became prophetic as Real Madrid turned the tie around at home, and his quote has since lived on as a motto of resilience and belief at the club.

This tribute, placed inside the shirt, connects the current generation of players with Madrid’s never-say-die spirit, a mentality that defines the Bernabéu atmosphere.

Fans will also notice the kit’s shade of blue resembles that of the 2013/14 away kit, the very same season Los Blancos lifted their long-awaited tenth European title, La Decima.

It is a subtle but meaningful reminder of past glory, and perhaps, a hopeful omen for what’s to come.

While the home and away kits are already official, the third kit is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
