In recent days, several reports in the Italian media insisted that Inter have identified Rovella as the ideal like-for-like replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu who is being heavily linked with the exit door, with Galatasaray and Bayern Munich emerging as his most likely destinations.

As reported by Calciomercato, Fabiani has once again expressed Lazio’s desire to keep Rovella, but admitted that the player’s contract includes a release clause, and that the club would be helpless if one of the player’s suitors decides to activate it.

Would Rovella Accept a Transfer?

Sources in Italian football believe the fee included in the clause is €50 million. Nevertheless, Rovella can still reject the transfer even if the clause was triggered, and based on some of his recent statements, one would expect him to do so. The midfielder revealed how he fell in love with Lazio, and doesn’t rule out lingering at the club for the remainder of his playing career.
