Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu have put their bitter row behind them after the midfielder committed himself to Inter, sharing a hug and leaving Galatasaray rumours in the past.

It was only on Wednesday that Calhanoglu arrived at pre-season training and finally put an end to the rumours, confirming that while there had been interest from Galatasaray, they were never remotely close to making a deal with Inter or the player.

Now Lautaro Martinez has published a picture of him sitting, smiling and embracing Calhanoglu on his Instagram Stories.

The battle between the teammates erupted during the FIFA Club World Cup, when the Nerazzurri were eliminated by Fluminense in the Round of 16.

“We have a clear message: anyone who wants to stay must stay, anyone who doesn’t want to stay here should leave,” Lautaro Martinez had blasted to the media.

This was sparked by constant speculation that Calhanoglu was pushing for a move to Galatasaray, the club he has supported since childhood.

“I am not going to name names. We are here to give our all, but I saw many things I did not like. I am captain, I am the leader of the group, so I have to speak up.

“The message is clear: those who want to stay and continue challenging for important trophies can do so, otherwise, goodbye.”

Calhanoglu and his agent reiterated that he is happy to remain with Inter and has no intention of pushing for a transfer.
