Barcelona supporters were left disheartened when Athletic Club announced the contract renewal of Nico Williams on July 4th.

The talented winger has signed a new deal that will keep him with the La Liga side until 2035. This news came as a shock to many, especially after weeks of speculation linking him to Barça.

On the other hand, Barcelona fans were left with a bitter feeling, having spent weeks imagining Nico lighting up the left wing at Camp Nou.

Many believed his signing was almost certain, and the excitement among culés quickly turned to disappointment.

The failed pursuit has forced Barça to look at other options to strengthen their squad, but the frustration among fans remains.

Yamal’s father offers reassurance

Days after the news broke, Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Barcelona’s young sensation Lamine Yamal, decided to step in and calm the nerves of worried fans.

Known for regularly sharing his thoughts online, Nasraoui used Instagram Live to speak directly to Cules.

“Nothing happens, we will continue watching Lamine,” he said with a smile, reminding everyone that Barcelona still have one of the brightest young talents in Europe on their side.

Pointing to an illustrated portrait of his son on the wall, Nasraoui added, “Don’t worry, we have everything done.” His message made it clear that his son’s future at Barça is secure, with his contract running until 2031.

For fans saddened by missing out on Nci, Nasraoui’s words were a reminder to stay positive and focus on the exciting future ahead with Yamal leading the way.

Amidst all this drama, it must be remembered that Barcelona have not given up on their pursuit of signing a left winger, with Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford back on their agenda.
