Major League Soccer (MLS) have announced LA Galaxy forward Gabriel Pec as the 2024 Newcomer of the Year.
The Brazilian beat off competition from Luis Suárez and Luca Orellano to win the award, which is voted for by MLS club technical staff, media and current MLS players.
The 23-year-old joined Galaxy in January, in a club-record deal from Vasco de Gama, and has made an immediate impact, scoring 16 goals and providing 14 assists in 33 games, making him the youngest player in club history to record 30 goal contributions in a single season.
Pec's form helped Galaxy to a second-placed finish in the Western Conference, and into the semi-finals of the Conference Play-Offs, where they will face Minnesota United.
