It was a pleasure speaking to KT as he looks ahead to hopefully spending the rest of his career playing at Paradise. Here’s how our chat went and the full Celtic fan media video is available to watch and is shown below.
The Celtic Star: Kieran, what has your first impressions been of the squad, a lot of new faces, the same manager but new players as well to play alongside?
Kieran Tierney: “It’s been great. I missed the first week or whatever it was because I was on international duty so I came back and could see how much the boys were flying, how much hard work they put in. It’s a physical side, there is a lot of pace and power and strength in it, so it’s been great.”

The Celtic Star: I’m interested to know tactically, in the six years you have been away you have played centre-back for Scotland, you have played left-wing for Arsenal in the forward areas, other various roles as well, do you think you have morphed into a more versatile player?
Kieran Tierney: “Aye, you could probably say that. Left-wing or centre-back is somewhere I have always been comfortable with. More so at centre-back than left-wing but even when the gaffer was here the first time there was games where I played centre-back in a back four or if we changed to the back five it would be wing-back. So, nothing really new to me but yeah, it’s more adaptable probably.”

The Celtic Star: Is there a particular moment in your first spell that sticks out to you and is it all about replicating that success?
Kieran Tierney: “Just to be successful here is to keep Celtic at the top. I think that is everyone’s ambition. Every player will tell you it does not matter where you play it’s about keeping Celtic at the top and that is what matters to me.”
