Manchester United could reportedly land one of their midfield targets, Khephren Thuram, for as little as €15m in the summer transfer window.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Nice are looking to offload three key players in the coming months, with Thuram among them.

The Red Devils were linked to the player ahead of the winter window and were even thought to have an advantage over Arsenal in the race to sign him.

However, a deal never got over the line because of United’s poor financial shape which saw the club barely conduct any business in terms of incomings.

However, it’s believed that Erik ten Hag’s side still have Thuram on their radar and even made a recent scouting expedition to monitor and track him in action for Nice against Strasbourg.

The 23-year-old has been a key member of his side this term. He has made 25 Ligue 1 appearances and in that time, has managed one goal and as many assists.

His individual stats have taken a nosedive because his role in Le Gym has slightly changed.

Francesco Farioli, who described him as a “more complete midfielder”, has often preferred to deploy Thuram in the defensive midfield provide.

He can however also play higher up the pitch to great effect.

With the future of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen far from certain at Old Trafford, a scenario could play out in which United swoop in for Thuram and lure him to England. It shouldn’t be very hard for the Reds considering Sir Jim Ratcliffe owns Nice.

According to Nice-Matin, Thuram could be obtained this summer for a very modest fee, with as little as €15m likely to get a transfer over the line.

Nice’s willingness to accept a lower sum could be motivated by the fact that Thuram has just one year left on his current terms at the Allianz Riviera.

This summer therefore represents their best chance of getting significant funds from parting ways with him.
