The champions beat Tottenham 2-0 on Tuesday after a brace from Erling Haaland to keep destiny in their hands as West Ham travel to the Etihad Stadium on the final day of the season.

City boast a two-point lead over Arsenal and know a win against the Hammers would be enough to seal an unprecedented fourth consecutive top-flight English title.

There had been concern about De Bruyne after he was replaced in the second-half following a challenge from Pape Matar Saar.

While the 32-year-old briefly continued, he was eventually replaced by Jeremy Doku before the 70th minute mark.

Guardiola then confirmed after the game that the Belgian “couldn’t run properly” but De Bruyne moved to ease injury concerns.

"I think I'm alright," he said. "The place in the Achilles is really sore. It felt a little bit like a knife in the moment I had the impact but it's an impact so it's not bad, I'll be alright."

De Bruyne also hailed teammate Stefan Ortega, who kept City in the lead by pulling off a fine save to deny Heung-min Son before Haaland bagged his second from the penalty spot having replaced first-choice goalkeeper Ederson during the action.

"He came in and not a lot of people knew where he came from or where he played but he's been really impressive," De Bruyne said.

"Whenever he's played for the team, he's been really good. He's had a lot more opportunities this year because there's been a couple of injuries for Eddy unfortunately.

"It keeps everybody and Eddy on his toes because he knows there's a good number two next to him."
