Ivan Juric insists Roma had to ‘clarify’ some things after a ‘heavy’ 5-1 loss to Fiorentina and explains how he will replace Artem Dovbyk.

Roma’s best scorer, Dovbyk, has a fever, so Paulo Dybala starts as a false nine, with Tommaso Baldanzi and Nicolò Pisilli playing as attacking midfielders.

“Let’s see how it goes on the pitch; when you don’t have a centre forward, you need to fill that space with other players,” noted Juric.

Today’s match is also Juric’s first game against his former club, Torino, which he coached from 2021 until last summer.

“I spent three amazing years there,” said the coach.

“I think the club and the players improved. Three players are now with the national team. It was a good job and it’s so nice to see them.”

The atmosphere at the Stadio Olimpico is toxic this evening as players were booed even before starting to warmup. Juric is on the brink of sacking and will likely leave the Olimpico if he fails to beat Toro.
