Jurgen Klopp has backed Arne Slot to replace him as Liverpool manager after the Dutchman declared that he wants the job.
The 45-year-old Feyenoord coach has emerged as a leading candidate to take over from Klopp, who will leave the Reds at the end of the season.
Klopp is not involved in the process of choosing his successor, but said Slot has what it takes if he is to become the next manager of Liverpool.
“I like the way his team plays football,” Klopp said. “I don’t know him yet, but good coach, good guy. If he’s the man, I am more than happy.
"If he is the one, I like that he wants it. All the things I hear about him is he is a really good guy."
