Jadon Sancho’s Juventus transfer draws closer with final demand

Manchester United have been very keen to make sales this summer to raise funds to sign their own targets.

The club thought they would instantly make money on Jadon Sancho when his loan move to Chelsea would be made permanent. Surprisingly, the Blues rejected the chance to sign the winger after failing to agree to his wage demands.

Sancho closing in on Juventus move

As a result, United have had to try and find a new home for the winger and they have been negotiating for weeks with Juventus over a move.

There have been mixed reports though as some Italian sources claim that a €25 million fee has already been agreed between the two clubs.

Contrastingly, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, has reported that Juventus have only made a €10 million plus €5 million bid for the player’s services.

Either way, it has been well-reported that Sancho is prepared to take a wage cut to join the Italians as he has given priority to a move to Turin.

Sancho demands compensation from United

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport report that “the Old Lady is working on two fronts: on the one hand, they are continuing their discussions with Porto to finalize the definitive purchase of Conceiçao for €25 million; on the other, they are not neglecting Sancho, who could, in fact, be brought closer by the sale of Nico Gonzalez.”

They confirm that Sancho has made a compromise to join the Italian side by reducing his wages to €5.5-6 million per season but there is a twist for United.

The paper states that “to sign with his new team, he requires a severance package from Manchester United. This request is effectively official and has been made directly to the Red Devils.”

It is reported that Sancho does not want to miss out on the money he is owed by the club and will ask United for it if Juventus cannot pay the difference.

United fans will be furious

Sancho is already unpopular enough with Red Devils’ fans after failing to live up to his £73 million transfer fee.

The English forward has been given plenty of opportunities to prove himself and was even allowed numerous months off by Erik ten Hag in the 2022/2023 season for mental health reasons.

What’s more, United have also listened to Sancho’s preference to move to Juventus and have given them the priority to conclude a deal.

Now, with United needing to save every penny to enhance their squad this summer, supporters will be less than impressed that the Englishman is throwing yet another potential spanner in the works.
