Jadon Sancho is expected to leave Manchester United this summer.
However, where the Englishman lands remains one of the mysteries of this summer transfer window.
Several top European clubs want him.
Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan, Besiktas and AS Roma have all been linked with his services.
Yet none of these clubs have managed to strike a deal with INEOS over the winger.
While United are willing to sell, it has emerged that the winger is being selective about his next destination.
Some clubs are hesitant to commit to a transfer, fearing he will reject them.
AS Roma are among those wary, and Besiktas have also been told Sancho is not keen on joining them.
According to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel:
“Besiktas would love to sign Jadon Sancho, but my understanding is that Sancho doesn’t want to go to Turkey, at least for now.
“If, by September 1, Sancho still hasn’t secured a move and the market remains open, there could be other possibilities. For now, however, he is not considering a switch to Turkey.
“He prefers to wait, and there are Italian clubs calling. Sancho’s exit will be another important topic in the final days of the summer transfer window.”
Romano’s comments will frustrate Besiktas fans.
Especially given how hard they have tried to sway the 25-year-old to join them and reunite with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Carsi have flooded the comment section of Sancho’s latest Instagram post, urging the Englishman to join their club.
With over 5.3 million comments, that post now ranks among the top five most commented on Instagram.
Besiktas have responded to their fans’ demand, with club president Serdal Adali admitting:
“Just as much as the community wants him, I want him too.
“What matters is not only our desire, but also if the player wants to come to Turkey.”
It is now clear the move will not go through.
INEOS will be hoping a suitor Sancho wants will come forward soon, or, like with Antony, they may be forced to issue an ultimatum on when he must choose his next club.
