A journalist has offered an intriguing transfer update on a winger name that Chelsea like, and it’s not Jamie Gittens of Dortmund.

It’s not exactly blown up with big Chelsea transfer news but this is probably because at the moment the club have been concentrating on playing in the Club World Cup.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea have three goalkeeper targets and are still in for Mike Maignan and want to sell two current GKs!

I’m fully convinced Chelsea will go for a goalkeeper still this window but it is something that will happen later on in the window. And despite the Mike Maignan thing consistently being played down now, I can still see Chelsea going back for him – as is actually reported in the story above!

There is also a situation bubbling up with Andrey Santos, who will be disappointed not to have played yet for Chelsea in the Club World Cup and will surely be weighing up his own future right now. The Santos noise is soon going to start increasing.

Plenty going on

It’s quiet in terms of solid movement but even still, there appears to be plenty going on in the background right now and Chelsea are looking to move on in on some players they like. One player they like apparently is Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon.

Chelsea like Gordon

journalist Graeme Bailey has revealed exactly where Gordon sees himself at next were he to ever leave.

“One day, I think he probably will end up at Liverpool. Will it be this summer? I very much doubt it,” Bailey said on TBR.

“But Liverpool is his preferred option. He’s on the list of the other clubs, I would say. We know Chelsea and Arsenal both want that left side upgrading. It’s not a secret and it’s a player they like.

“But yeah, to get Gordon out of Newcastle, I think it’s highly unlikely. Do Newcastle need to do a sale? Some clubs in football think they do and that’s why we’ve seen the Tino Livermento situation where City keep pecking away there…”
