It’s an exciting time to join City, says Cumings

Eartha Cumings believes City currently has a strong blend of exciting young talent and quality senior figures.

And, as a result, she says it’s an exciting time to join the Blues as we approach the 2025/26 campaign.

The Scotland international goalkeeper has become our fourth summer signing, penning a three-year deal which will keep her at the Joie Stadium until 2028, subject to international clearance.

It’s the latest piece of business in what’s proved to be a busy preseason so far which includes the appointment of Andrée Jeglertz as head coach and our acquisitions of Jade Rose, Iman Beney and Sydney Lohmann.

With Cumings now being introduced into the group, she’s under no illusions as to what the Club’s goals are.

“I think it's a really exciting team,” she said.

“There's a lot of young players, but also a bit of a mix [with experience] and obviously, City has really high ambitions and aspirations, so it's an exciting time to be a part of this team.

“From the outside, it looks like a really great goalkeeper union and like it looks like they have great fun. So, I'm looking forward to being part of it.”

Cumings arrives at City with a wealth of experience domestically and on the international stage.

Ahead of her switch to the Blues she helped Rosengard to the 2024 Damallsvenskan title where she was also named Goalkeeper of the Year.

Before then, she enjoyed success with Bristol City, Charlton and Liverpool in England – and she’s relishing the challenge of the Barclays Women’s Super League.

She added: “It's always nice to come like a bit close to home, and obviously this league is like the most competitive league in Europe.

“It’s a massive challenge to be here and something really exciting.

“Obviously [I] just want to settle in in the short term and kind of like get to know everybody and you know, feel at home in the group and yeah, just push the team to do everything we can.”
