Italy stars Calafiori and Tonali score in Arsenal and Newcastle wins | OneFootball

Riccardo Calafiori and Sandro Tonali scored one goal each in Arsenal’s and Newcastle’s victories today.

The former Bologna defender gifted Arsenal all three points in an away game at Wolves by finding the net at minute 74.

Calafiori had not started the match and was introduced as a substitute after the half-time break. He has now scored two goals in 12 Premier League appearances with the Gunners.

On the other hand, Tonali contributed to Newcastle’s 3-1 away win at Southampton, coached by former Genoa, Torino and Roma coach Ivan Juric.

Contrary to Calafiori, Tonali had started in Newcastle’s three-man midfield and scored his third goal across all competitions, his first in the Premier League this season, at minute 51.

Tonali has been a regular Newcastle starter since returning to action after a 10-month ban for illegal betting in August.

The former Milan star has collected 1708 minutes of football, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
