Striker Mehdi Taremi is pushing to make his return from injury for Inter Milan in this weekend’s Serie A clash with Cagliari.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi has been on the sidelines for a couple weeks now.

The Iranian international pulled out of the squad for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Udinese at the end of March.

That was the match immediately following the international break for Inter.

And medical tests confirmed that Taremi had suffered a thigh strain during the break.

Therefore, Mehdi Taremi has missed a couple Serie A matches. As well as first leg clashes with AC Milan in the Coppa Italia and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

According to the Gazzetta, however, a return to fitness is not far away for Taremi.

The 32-year-old is pushing to make his return to training.

And the Gazzetta report that Taremi could be back in the squad for Inter’s next match.

On Satuday evening, Inter host Cagliari in Serie A. The Gazzetta anticipate that there is a good chance of Taremi being in the squad for that match.

Then, the Iranian would be ready to make his contribution in the second leg of Inter’s Champions League quarterfinal tie against Bayern Munich next week.
