Inter to Search For Reinforcements in South America | OneFootball

Despite the January window being just around the corner, Inter are focused more on the future than on the present. They probably won’t tweak their squad during the winter. Their deputy scouting director Dario Baccin has embarked on a trip to South America to take a close look at a few youngsters, TuttoSport informs.

The Nerazzurri will have more liberty and funds to invest in talents thanks to the Oaktree takeover. The change of strategy led to the acquisition of Tiago Tomas Palacios last summer. They’ll continue to look for a defender, as Francesco Acerbi is showing some wear and tear. He and Stefan De Vrij have short-term contracts.

In addition, Baccin will canvass the continent for a no.10, as Inter didn’t sign anybody with those traits after missing out on Albert Gudmundsson. Simone Inzaghi wouldn’t mind having the possibility of switching to a 3-4-1-2 when needing to score.

It’s a noble intent, but their coach will have to be a little more trusting toward the youngsters for their plan to pay dividends. They have their ducks in order about their needs. A slippery attacker with upside won’t be hard to find in Argentina or Brazil.
