Last season, Inter attacking midfielder Carboni was out on loan at Monza.

This was an important step in the 19-year-old Argentine international’s development.

Carboni needed to make the step up into playing regular senior football. That is something Inter certainly could not have offered him.

However, the Argentine was able to gradually make a place for himself in the Monza starting eleven over the course of last campaign.

But now, Inter are once again having to decide on what the next step is for Carboni.

Another loan would be one possibility. But according to the Gazzetta, Inter are instead leaning towards a permanent sale.

The club currently showing the strongest interest in Carboni’s signature are Marseille.

All of Fiorentina, Atalanta, and Lazio are keen on Carboni from within Serie A. But the French club are the one who are pushing.

The Ligue 1 club see the 19-year-old as a major target for new coach Roberto De Zerbi. The 45-year-old former Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk coach has been appointed after leaving Brighton and Hove Albion.

Marseille have made their interest in Carboni clear. They are currently in talks with Inter to try and secure a deal for the Argentine.

According to the Gazzetta, Marseille have made an offer to sign the Argentine on loan.

However, the newspaper reports, Inter have rejected that.

According to the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri are not currently thinking about loaning Carboni out again. They are leaning towards selling the teenage attacking midfielder outright.

Inter would demand a fee of no less than €30 million if they are to sell Carboni this summer.
