Inter Milan will include teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito in their squad for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan will head off to the United states for the Club World Cup in just a few days.

The Nerazzurri’s first match in that tournament is less than two weeks away. They face Monterrey in their group stage opener.

And Inter will be departing for the US without a couple of strikers from this past season. Both Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa have left the club already.

Meanwhile, Inter are reportedly working to sign Rasmus Hojlund as a replacement. However, the Manchester United striker will certainly not arrive before the Club World Cup.

However, Inter will bolster their attack for the tournament with one notable name.

19-year-old striker Francesco Pio Esposito has returned to Inter after a stellar season on loan with Spezia.

After Pio Esposito’s nineteen-goal haul last campaign, it looks clear that he will take the next step and play in Serie A this coming season.

There are a few clubs with an interested in Pio Esposito. Reportedly Parma, Bologna, Torino, and Lazio all want the teenager.

Napoli have also made no secret of their interest in signing Pio Esposito. Meanwhile, the likes of Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with Pio Esposito’s signature in recent months.

In any event, Inter will evaluate Pio Esposito’s future.

And in the meantime, the 19-year-old has suffered a knee injury. That has caused him to pull out of the Italy squad for the Under-21 Euros this summer.

For Inter, however, that means that Pio Esposito will be free to join their squad for the Club World Cup.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri are set to bring the 19-year-old to the US for the tournament. This could be the ideal opportunity for the new Inter coach to get a close look at Pio Esposito.
