Inter President Steven Zhang could be at risk of facing a three-year prison sentence in China if he is found to have hidden assets from creditors.
This according to Italian news outlet Calcio e Finanza, who report that the Nerazzurri President’s assets are being looked into by Chinese bank the China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation (CCBA).
The CCBA believe that there is a possibility that Inter President Zhang may be hiding assets as they look to collect on around €300 million in debts owed as part of his dealings in China as part of Suning.
According to Calcio e Finanza, the CCBA’s search include asking for information from US-based financial institutions regarding their relationship with the Nerazzurri.
The Italian finance outlet reports that Zhang could potentially face a sentence of three years in a Chinese prison if he is found by a court to have been hiding assets from his creditors in the CCBA by their search.
