Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson insists a big-club move won’t tame his flashy style, while comparing himself to Inter Milan veteran Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The 26-year-old cemented himself as one of the best revelations of the Serie A campaign. His dribbling skills and superb strikes made him a favorite among neutral supporters.

Naturally, the Icelandic’s exploits earned him great recognition as well as admirers among the big boys. This includes the likes of Inter, Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur.

Gudmundsson appears to be open to a move towards greener pastures. He believes a switch to a top club won’t jeopardize his flamboyant style.

“I think I would maintain the same craft and flashiness,” he said in his interview with Cronache di Spogliatoio via FcInterNews.

“No attacker should be afraid of making mistakes. Obviously, at a top club, you have more opportunities in the final third. So even if you waste a play, you can’t stop taking risks.”

The Iceland international believes he can interpret a similar role to Inter veteran Mkhitaryan who links the midfield with the attack.

“Yes, I can play like Mkhitaryan. I already did it at Genoa for a few games, featuring as a midfielder in a 3-5-2. I think it was against Juventus and Fiorentina.

“We tried it for a couple of games and I think I did well, so I believe I can play different roles in this type of formation.”

Nevertheless, Gudmundsson feels his ideal role is that of a second striker.

“I would say that I am more of a number 10, less of a striker or a false nine. However, I think that one of my qualities is the ability to play in different positions.

“I can play as a striker, number 10, midfielder, or winger. So I think my versatility can be an advantage when the coach chooses the formation. He can place me in many different roles”
