Inter Milan center-back Alessandro Bastoni waxed lyrical about Barcelona ace Lamine Yamal after tonight’s Champions League draw.
Speaking to Prime via FCInterNews, Bastoni praised the 17-year-old’s footballing qualities.
One of the most incredible matches in recent Champions League memory saw Barcelona and Inter share the spoils in a 3-3 draw.
Despite avoiding defeat in Catalonia, this goal-glutted stalemate must taste bittersweet from Inter’s perspective.
Indeed, Simone Inzaghi’s charges wasted a two-goal cushion in the first half.
Denzel Dumfries and Marcus Thuram fired the Nerazzurri 2-0 up after only 21 minutes.
However, Barcelona draw level through Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres before halftime.
In all fairness, Yamal destroyed Federico Dimarco, forcing Inzaghi to take his star wingback off at the start of the second half.
Meanwhile, Inter regained the lead through Dumfries, only for Yann Sommer’s unfortunate own goal to settle the affair.

Widely considered the brightest young talent and future Ballon d’Or winner, Yamal delivered a dazzling performance tonight.
Even Bastoni credited the teenage sensation for an epic showing.
“Lamine is an incredible player, we have to acknowledge that,” he stated.
“He’s one of the best, if not the best winger at the moment; when it’s time to say ‘well done,’ you have to say it.”
Meanwhile, Bastoni delivered his verdict on Inter’s resilient display at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
“We enjoyed it too,” he continued.
“They are a very strong team with incredible players, and it’s always nice to face sides like this, we’re in a Champions League semifinal.
“It was a great match, with chances on both sides. Now we have to rest because we’ve got Verona and then the return leg, so we’ll take everything calmly.
“I think this was my 57th match, and Inter have played just as many. A week like the one we had can happen.
“We’re sorry for the fans, but we showed that we never give up and we’re in it until the end.”
Finally, he refused to reveal what he told Wojciech Szczesny after the final whistle.
“I can’t say,” he claimed. “I congratulated him on the choice he made. He changed his mind and chose to stay in this beautiful sport.”
