Valentin Carboni says that he is “just focused on training” rather than questions about his future at Inter Milan.
The Argentine spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, after yesterday’s FIFA Club World Cup win over Urawa Red Diamonds.
Valentin Carboni was not the likeliest hero for Inter Milan against Urawa Red Diamonds.
The Argentine is only just coming back from an ACL tear that has kept him out since October.
But it was Carboni who Inter coach Cristian Chivu turned to late in the Nerazzurri’s Club World Cup match against Urawa Red Diamonds.
When Chivu threw the 20-year-old on off the bench, Inter were trailing 0-1 in the Club World Cup group stage clash.
However, Lautaro Martinez was able to find the equalizer for Inter.
From then on, it looked as though the Nerazzurri would be settling for a point.
However, it was Carboni who found himself with the ball at his feet inside the penalty area in stoppage time. And the Argentine showed great technique and composure to tuck the ball into the far corner.

Now the big question is what comes next for Valentin Carboni.
Last summer the Argentine joined Marseille on loan. Then, his big knee injury set his progress back significantly.
Therefore, this summer looks to be another major crossroads for the 20-year-old.
However, asked about his future and the possibility of either staying at Inter or going on loan again, Carboni simply replied “I’m just thinking about tomorrow, and tomorrow’s training session.”
As far as his return to the pitch, Carboni said that “the truth is I started training again 2-3 week ago.”
“So maybe it was a bit early to come back. But the team needed me, and I felt good.”
“So I was available and ready to come on,” said the Argentine.
Then, Carboni commented on new Inter coach Cristian Chivu. “When he arrived I was happy,” said the 20-year-old.
“First of all because he deserves it. He’s a great person.”
“And now that he’s here and gives me his trust, it’s very important for me,” the 20-year-old added. “So I’m very happy.”
And of his goal against Urawa Reds, Carboni said that “I’m very happy, especially for the win by the team.”
“Coming back after eight months after the long injury. Coming on like that and scoring. I think it’s a reward for all the effort, this entire recent period.”
“However, my recovery isn’t over yet,” Carboni cautioned.
“I still have to keep recovering. And that’s also part of my journey.”
