Inter Milan are considering a move for Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo as a replacement for Francesco Acerbi.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They also name Spezia’s Nicolo Bertola as a potential target to replace the aging veteran.
Sooner or later, Inter will have to replace Acerbi.
There is no questioning the former Lazio and Sassuolo defender’s standard of performances when he is available.
Since joining Inter from Lazio in 2022, Acerbi has been an absolute rock at the back.
And even at the age of 36, Acerbi has continued to play at a very high level this season. His performance against Napoli last month was certainly a demonstration of his quality.
However, Acerbi has been dealing with a few muscle injuries.
There is increasingly a sense that the Italian international simply isn’t reliable in terms of his availability.
Inter will aim to replace the veteran Acerbi with a much younger defender, naturally.
And according to Tuttosport, one of the Nerazzurri’s potential targets will be on the pitch in this evening’s Serie A match.
Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo has been one of the revelations of this season.
Even at the age of just twenty, Comuzzo has proven to be adept at the Serie A level.
And that makes Comuzzo a very interesting target for Inter.
Tuttosport note that Spezia defender Nicolo Bertola is another prospective target for the Nerazzurri. But unlike Comuzzo, the 21-year-old has yet to prove himself in Serie A.
