Cristian Chivu officially became the new Inter Milan manager yesterday, replacing Simone Inzaghi at the steering wheel.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri will do everything to back their new head coach this summer.
One of Chivu’s top priorities is bringing in a new assistant manager.
Therefore, Giovanni Martusciello has emerged as the leading candidate.
However, convincing Salernitana to sanction his transfer to San Siro has proved rather complicated.
Aware of the situation, Inter had tried to sign Walter Samuel but to no avail.
Indeed, the ex-Nerazzurri defender turned down a reunion to stay with Lionel Scaloni in Argentina.

Inter unveiled Cristian Chivu as their new manager yesterday.
Though he wasn’t the club’s first choice, Cesc Fabregas’ rejection has forced their hand.
Nonetheless, the Serie A runners-up have no regrets and want to back their newly-appointed boss instead.
Despite his decent short-term stint at Parma, this is an entirely different challenge for the Romanian.
Indeed, his first task will be to help the squad mentally recover from last season’s fiasco.
Furthermore, he must also work on the athletic aspect during summer preparations to avoid another injury-plagued campaign.
Luckily, he will enjoy full support from everyone at San Siro.
