Inter Milan condemned any form of discrimination after Fiorentina star Moise Kean fell victim to racial abuse on social media.
Shortly after the ex-Juventus striker went public with screenshots of racist messages, the Nerazzurri released an official statement on X via FCInterNews.
#BUU #BrothersUniversallyUnited… https://t.co/Hffol9Y9qP
However, Francesco Acerbi kept him quiet last night as the reigning avenged a Tuscan heartache with a 2-1 victory.
Marko Arnautovic scored a second-half winner to seal Inter’s triumph.
Unfortunately, Simone Inzaghi couldn’t enjoy his side’s win as post-match incidents overshadowed Inter’s on-field success.
Kean was at the center of another racial controversy in Italian football.
Despite failing to score at the San Siro, the 24-year-old was on the receiving end of mindless fans on social media.
Indeed, Kean took to Instagram to share screenshots of the offensive messages.
Kean’s actions compelled the 20-time Italian champions to respond and condemn all forms of verbal violence.
“For the values that define our history, we have always been against any form of discrimination,” the statement read.
“We, therefore, stand with Moise Kean and Fiorentina in condemning the attacks that the Viola striker has been subjected to.”

Racial abuse has been a recurring problem in Serie A in the past decade.
From Romelu Lukaku to Mike Maignan, several star players have encountered this issue.
However, the country’s mechanisms to tackle this unpleasant matter have often proved ineffective.
Despite occasional sanctions, many offenders face minimal consequences, allowing the issue to persist.
Clubs and authorities continue to pledge action, but concrete measures to eradicate racism from Italian football remain insufficient.
The bottom line, Serie A must implement stricter regulations and harsher penalties to combat racial abuse effectively and protect its players.
