Inter Miami CF hosts Necaxa, Club América take on Minnesota United

MIAMI – The Leagues Cup 2025 continues on Saturday with six matches in Phase One of the Concacaf-sanctioned competition between MLS and Liga MX clubs, as they battle for the crown and three spots in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
The six fixtures of the day will feature matchups between two sides that will be facing off for the first time in an official competition.
Orlando City SC vs. Atlas FC
The day’s action will get going with Orlando City SC facing Atlas FC at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida, USA.
Orlando City opened its Leagues Cup campaign with a 1-1draw against Pumas UNAM, with the Liga MX club claiming the additional point in PKs. Rodrigo Schlegel scored the team’s goal in the match.
Atlas FC will look to bounce back after falling 2-1 against Inter Miami in its first match of the tournament. Rivaldo Lozano got onto the scoresheet for Los Rojinegros.
Inter Miami CF vs. Club Necaxa
Inter Miami CF will host Club Necaxa at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
Winners of the 2023 edition, Inter Miami enter the match after defeating Atlas FC 2-1 with a dramatic late winner. Telasco Segovia and Marcelo Weigandt were the goal scorers for the South Florida side.
The match saw FIFA World Cup winner Rodrigo De Paul make his Inter Miami debut as part of the night’s headlines. USA international Benjamin Cremaschi reached 100 appearances for the club.
Necaxa were also triumphant in their opening Phase One fixture, securing a 3-1 win over Atlanta United. A brace from forward Tomás Badaloni led the Liga MX side to victory.
Pumas UNAM vs. Atlanta United
Pumas UNAM and Atlanta United meet at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida, USA.
Pumas will be in search of a win after drawing 1-1 against Orlando City and winning the additional point in the subsequent penalty shootout. The 2024 Concacaf Men’s Player of the Year Award winner Adalberto Carrasquilla was the goal scorer for Pumas in regulation.
Atlanta will be in search of its first points after a 3-1 loss to Necaxa. Aleksei Miranchuk scored the goal the MLS side.
Club América vs. Minnesota United FC
Club América will take on Minnesota United FC at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas, USA.
América enters the match after a thrilling 2-2 draw against Real Salt Lake, with the MLS team claiming the extra point in PKs. Brian Rodríguez and Érick Sánchez scored for Las Águilas.
Minnesota United will aim for another three points after a dominant 4-1 win against Club Querétaro with strikes from Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Kelvin Yeboah, Anthony Markanich and Tani Oluwaseyi.
Real Salt Lake vs. Atlético de San Luis
Real Salt Lake will match up against Atlético de San Luis at America First Field in Sandy, Utah, USA.
Real Salt Lake is coming off of a 2-2 draw against América in which it claimed the additional point by winning the penalty shootout. Diego Luna and William Agada struck for RSL.
Atlético de San Luis will eye its first points of the campaign after falling 4-nil to the Portland Timbers.
Portland Timbers vs. Querétaro FC
Portland Timbers will welcome Querétaro FC to Providence Park in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Portland Timbers will aim for another triumph after defeating Atlético de San Luis 4-0. David Da Costa, Kevin Kelsy, Ariel Lassiter and Felipe Mora scored to guide the Oregon side to victory.
Querétaro will be in the hunt of a positive result after its 4-1 loss against Minnesota. Jhojan Julio scored the team’s goal in the match.
