West Ham are set to advance talks to sign Evan Ferguson this January transfer window.
The Brighton striker has been considered for some time to be the number one target for Graham Potter, who wants to link up with the player he handed his debut to whilst he was in charge of the Seagulls.
In a bizarre twist of fate, Jhon Duran is pivotal to us landing Ferguson, as his move to Saudi now means Bayer Leverkusen will not proceed to chase Ferguson, now Victor Boniface is set to remain in Germany.
The news now puts West Ham very much in the driving seat to land Ferguson, as the club enter advanced talks today to secure the player, with insider ExWHUEmployee stating that a permanent deal is also being discussed.
“West Ham are set to continue their negotiations for Evan Ferguson today,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way.
“The news has emerged last night that Ferguson’s move to Bayer Leverkusen may have fallen through due to Al Nassr choosing to sign Jhon Duran over their forward Victor Boniface. If the club get this confirmed and are confident that his injuries are not long term then further negotiations with the hope of completing before Monday’s deadline will occur.
“West Ham are prepared to include an option or obligation to buy in the loan deal to try and get the deal over the line.”
