Igor Matanovic is set to join SC Freiburg on a permanent deal from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The 22-year-old centre-forward only played 16 times for Frankfurt in the Bundesliga last season, scoring one goal. Often used as a sub, the Croatian also made seven appearances in the Europa League as well as two cameos in the DFB Pokal, with just one goal in the Pokal to show.

Prior to his move to Frankfurt, Matanovic had a successful season in the 2. Bundesliga at Karlsruhe, scoring 14 goals in 32 appearances during the 2023/24 season.
Freiburg will be hoping that the youngster will show his potential once again when given more game time.
Advanced negotiations between both clubs are ongoing, but a move is in everyone’s interests.
As per TransferMarkt, Matanovic’s current market value is €5m.
