Neville expects the spoils to be shared as he said: “Scholesy, I’m unsure. 1-1? [We’ll go] 2-2.”

Ian Wright was quick to disagree as he thinks United will come out on top at the weekend to secure a consecutive win in the league.

“I’d have gone 3-2 United,” Wright said. “I love the way Hojlund finished that chance [against Brentford]. He’s in the mode. I can see him getting two goals here.”

Roy Keane also feels United will get three points, adding: “Nah, United 2-1.”

That’s when Wright got the final comment in: “Yes. United 2-1.”

Manchester United need to go on a winning run

It has been an underwhelming start to the season and injuries are starting to mount on the squad yet again.

Erik ten Hag is under pressure to keep his job and he can’t afford to be making any excuses in his third season. The Reds must improve and the only way to achieve that is by winning football matches.

Not only would a winning run help take some pressure off Ten Hag, it would put us in a stronger position to compete for the rest of the season. Aston Villa look good and there won’t be a shortage of competition for the top four.

United must build on the 2-1 win over Brentford by making it back-to-back wins in the league. The players will be tired after Thursday night’s Europa League clash against Fenerbahce, but the best players don’t let that become an excuse.

We can’t afford to keep losing ground in the league, especially after showing some progress last weekend. It’s time to move forward and up the league table.
