Zlatan Ibrahimovic has refused to rule out the idea of Joao Felix remaining at AC Milan beyond the end of the season, while he also spoke again about renewals.
Milan have a big task on their hands tonight as they take on Feyenoord in the second leg of their Champions League play-off tie needing to overhaul a 1-0 deficit from the game at De Kuip in order to make it through.
Despite this, the newspapers continue to be filled with stories about potential renewals for Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Tijjani Reijnders and others, while there is speculation about the future of Felix beyond his loan spell too.
Ibrahimovic was interviewed by Sky on the eve of the second leg against Feyenoord in the Champions League as he stepped in for Sergio Conceiçao, who was in Portugal for the funeral of Pinto da Costa. MilanNews relayed his comments.
What do you expect from Milan?
“I expect [Milan to be] more clinical, aggressive. With the mentality and approach like it’s a final. We need to win to move forward.”

And Feyenoord?
“It’s always different away from home, every game is different. We have to be focused on ourselves, play our game, do what we have to do and be present.”
How much does the Champions League weigh on the season’s balance?
“The Champions League is important. If you look at the history of Milan, the club has written the history of the Champions League. It is an important match, we want to win and we must win. When you play for Milan, you have to be present in the Champions League.”
Will the four forwards be fielded again?
“Everyone wanted these four forwards, then when they are present they want to change them. It’s a question for the coach. The 11 who play have to do this job to win, as well as those who come in. Then we’ll see if they will be the ‘fantastic 4’ or others.”
Do you miss experiencing moments like this as a footballer?
“These moments are beautiful. There is a lot on the table, a lot of risk. They are the most beautiful moments you can have as a footballer. Then it depends on each person how they live them. They are moments that make you remember who you are.”

What can you tell us about the renewals of Maignan, Reijnders and Theo?
“We are talking to all three. For us everything is under control. All three are very happy at Milan and want to continue at Milan. There is nothing more than this.”
And the future of Joao Felix?
“Everything is possible. We have to make him feel good, he’s playing well, it’s just the beginning. After the season we’ll talk about it, but for us everything is possible.”
How would you judge your first 14 months as director?
“I am always relaxed. Step by step you grow and learn. Today I covered my grey hair (laughs). Every day has its own dynamic, you wake up and have 50 messages. I learn a lot, I give a lot too. You look at football from another angle, not just from the individual point of view of a footballer.
“Now I have to be more open. I have good colleagues, we talk every day. I talk to them more than to my wife. I don’t know if it’s good, we’ll see if it stays like this in a few months. I’m joking (laughs).”
